Passed every Exam using my notes except the warfighter exam I know for a fact that at least 8 of the questions on both of the exam and the retake was something they did not teach us in class so I ended up failing by 1 each time. All the questions I got wrong were on a 300+ page pdf file that was scanned so no control F, is it my fault for failing at locating answers that were pretty much hidden

You could try and challenge the test. But, I have to ask....how many others in the class failed this test? Of those that failed the test, did they also get the same questions wrong? If they did, then you have a good chance to challenge. However, if no one else got those same questions wrong, then you really don't have much to challenge with. Even though the material was not covered in class, was the material located in the class materials/hand outs/books that were provided to you? As for the last part of your question: You were given the material to study. Even though you were not able to "Control F," you were still given the material pertinent to the test. Yes, I fully understand it is 300+ pages, it is still YOUR responsibility to study any and all given material.

They give us references but it's on a computer that is basically locked down so we can't email the files to ourselves. No books or hand outs it's literally copy what they teach and move to the next subject in the matter of 40mins. A guy from my unit told me that his SGLS gave his platoon pretty much a cheat sheet to make up for what they do not teach us but this was after I failed. After failing they usually give you retraining the day before then test the next day but this exam they gave it literally back to back. No one else failed from my class because they at least guessed 1 of the 8 deadly questions right that wasn't taught to us but from other platoons even the 11B failed and that exam is all about their job

I can only study what they teach in slides which I literally copied word from word with references but given only an hour and 20 minutes I went through the test with ease using my notes but as soon as the questions that I had to go searching for came up I literally spent majority of the time trying to decide what's the best answer when two of the options are literally the answer just broken up

I understand your frustration, but what is the end state - did this cause you to receive a “Did Not Meet course Standard” 1059? Did it remove you from receiving honors? Or is it an integrity issue that is just burning inside of you?

If this is something that willl cause you to FAIL an NCOES you may need to involve your CoC because that will be detrimental to your career. If this is something removing you from receiving honors you can schedule an open door meeting with the Commandant to express your concerns. And if this is simply a integrity issue that is burning within you, you can address this at your end of cycle AAR that all students must submit.

Additionally, as a former SGL, the circumstances surrounding your test preparation and execution sound very mysterious, if you plan to address this issue serious you will need fine tuned facts that outline specific problems that can be verified - otherwise it will likely be viewed as the excuses of a student you didn’t probably train for BLC.

Hope this helps.

As far as test failures go in BLC, you have the right to appeal a second time test failure which results in dismissal. However the appeal has to be fact based and there has to be a reason I.e you were not given the reference material or the class was not taught at all something fact based. The appeal will go to JAG for legal review and then JAG will make its recommendation to the Commandant. Ultimately at the end of the day it is the Commandants call on wether you get a 3rd test. If 40% or more people missed the same questions on the test then those questions will be submitted for review as possible “bad” questions and will be pulled from the tests and those who missed it will be given credit. Hope this helps..

I know you said if the class wasn't taught at all but what about if the best answer wasn't taught for exam when placing restraints on a ditainee

A) restraints are secured but can fit 1 finger in between cuffs

B) tight enough leaving no gaps but cuts off circulation to the hands

I put A option seeing how it's secure and doesn't cause any unnecessary pain but it was B

You would have a hard time selling to the Commadant that it was because the best answer to the test wasn’t taught. Again when it is all said and done, it is the Commadants decision on wether you get another chance. Submit your appeal and state your case using facts and that’s all you can do.

Also after I was told I had 72 hours and come back on Monday before 1500 by the deputy to appeal I asked my SGL do I report back to my unit 3 times in front of everyone and he said yeah so so Monday comes around at 0900 he calls me asking me where am I and I was supposed to be still in class so I went back and he told me I was supposed to be in the field doing warfighter drills but since he fucked up he lied and said I was there and put in a false grade for it and reported me present for that day even though I wasn't at the time he kept telling me not to tell anyone are he will be in trouble

SPC (Join to see) - You should not be discussing specific test questions, scenarios or answer options found on the tests in an open forum. This compromises the tests integrity, keep it general , this used to be addressed in the test administration instructions at least in the basic and advanced officers courses.
If your SGL lied and credited you with being somewhere you weren't and passing something you didn't or asked you to cover up something ; it needs to be reported immediately.

You can actually enhance the PDF file to “recognize text” so it will make those scanned documents similar to the other pages and you’ll be able to utilize CTR+F. It takes a while to scan everything but it helps a lot.

You should have been notified of the procedure for reclama on test questions. Did you have or take the opportunity to challenge the answers?

I took the option to appeal. But even with that I have to have actually facts which is some what impossible when I record anything on the test for future past or present purposes and references are classified so they are just going to say without even that I'm wrong

You can dispute any test at any NCOES. At ANCOC I disputed a couple math questions on tests one was founded and the other not, even though the wrong answer was one of the choices (RE factors for Demo you can use the wrong factor and that effects the calculation).
We used to watch for trends like the one you mention in the EBOLC, and it was part of the AAR process, occasionally a group of 2lts would all miss the same questions. We would then do an analysis to see if the questions were poorly written, the subject matter not discussed and missing in the POI, or the instructor failed to convey the learning point.
If the correct answers were on the PDF file provided then my guess is the score will stand. But it's worth your time to bring it to the cadre's attention.
The worst that can happen is that the score stands.

I understand you are very frustrated. If this was a widespread issue with maybe 2 or more other BLC students failing the exam, I would say you have a case. It looks like it was just bad luck on your part, you will have to take this failure and hopefully, in 6 months, you will be eligible to go back to the BLC and try again.

I'm sorry you had to get this far just to have to re-take the course in the future. Don't get down on yourself, there are dozens of other Soldiers who have failed BLC their 1st attempt and went onto to successfully graduate in a future course. As, I said, take the loss, keep training and studying and do better so you can pass next time.

OK now I have a new issue my SGL told me on Thursday that I was dropped from the course and to go back to my unit when Friday came around I was still suppose to still be there conducting squad drills for a test knowing his mistake he reported me there put in a false test grade to save his own ass then on Monday he came to me treating me not to bring it up or it will open a can of warms

Don't sit on this! Address what happened with your chain of command and let this play out. This SGL seems concerned about what's been done in the dark. It needs to be exposed to ensure this illegal practice ends. Stay strong as things may get messy.

Report this immediately. Honors violations are the kiss of death. You may have to still go to your unit but an admin failure is much easier to overcome then an integrity violation.

A fail is a fail, did everyone fail? If they did, then maybe you could contest it. If not, then maybe you need to study a little harder.

As I stated before the only thing we can study is not even accessible after the school closes for the day nor can I copy a 4 types of pdf with more then 300+ pages its not like failed something that is always accessible like land navigation, DNA, PRT OR

I failed something that clearly wasn't taught so I had to look through 300+
page references with only 120 minutes thsts impossible to do your only option is to guess those answers that were not taught how is that fair

SPC (Join to see) - How many other students failed the test? As everyone should have had the same 120 minutes to utilize the same references the administration of the test was inherently "Fair" and not "impossible" to accomplish unless everyone or a large percentage failed.
Dispute the questions you missed and your belief that they were left out of the POI, steer clear of woe is me and "fair" comments as they are too easily refuted, as long as the entire group had equal time, utilized the same references and equipment.
Also you are discussing specific test questions and answer options in the RP open forum on a couple other threads. You should not do this ,as it compromises the test.
