So, My command team tells me that if they need me too, I must stay extra long hours to work. But in doing so, My school work is suffering. I know I read somewhere that the army places great emphasis on those in college and that my command is required to give me more than enough time to do the work. Is this true, and if so, where can I find a regulation or SOP for it to give to my command team.

You must not be married or have children. Schools are set up to work around the command not the other way around. If you want your cake and eat it too become a midshipman. If this is your first realization that your command is all that is important I am guessing you might be a reservist? The Navy was real easy in the 1990's we were either on duty or on leave.

For Navy people you almost have to be on SHOR duty to go to school , If you on one of the bigger ship's there are some classes available.
Ether way the job comes first.

College is important to you. Your command should care about you personal life to an extent. But if school is getting in the way of your job in Ops either accept the late hours or drop down to one class a quarter.

As the Old saying says: " You are in the ARMY now" meaning,, Yo'Momma, Spouse,Kids, and everything else goes out Da' "Guindou".. (sic) . The Regs and M-16 are your Buddies now.. Bite the Freaking Bullet.. and Stop your Belly'aching( Cry babying if you will).. You want to Study?.. Do it in /on your own time.. ( You are a Service member 24/7) If you must ,, Then Get to it when You Get out or Follow orders.. This is What's Wrong with Soldiers nowadays( I'm an OLD Fart from the late 60's--Draftee to boot).. They Feel Entitled to everything under the Sun... WAR is Hell and You Chose to fight it.. Everyone have a "ETS" wait for Yours,, There will Always be another that will fill your Slot.. ( Hopefully not a SAD SACK like you ) or Beatle Bailey... Toughen up FLAKE..!

My Sgtmajor once told me that if your mission was school then that is your mission. But if your mission is school and other things then the school takes second place. My contract i signed gave me ten years to finish my degree. After I got out of the military I did get my degree and all the schooling from the military I received was credited to my College I went to.

Currently what is your primary mission? Did your unit sign off for you to go to school or did you sign up outside them not knowing, If they know your going to school they should support but if it is METL mission you can't stop it.

Now here's the thing, o don't know what you ultimately want, or your preferences, so when we all do, we can focus in more, OK? That should keep you busy for a fair while reading all that, at any rate, OK?

Though I've read Army WaoCS is rough, we had a family friend who was Army enlisted, got it, then did his Bach in aviation through Embryo Riddle Univ, he got picked up by USCG as an OIS indoc school grad, as he'd been warrant, I think he was direct commissiomed, and finished as a USCG O-3 at 20 yrs....

Norwich Univ or College is always advertising on Jere, I've seen...also, ISCGA isn't NY nomination, it:s by exam...finally, any ROTC unit commander can nominate for the academy for their svc, out might need to reapply, just do it, if needs, OK?
