Can my spouse serve me with divorce papers to prevent me from going on deployment?

General question....
I'm married to another Marine and I have an up coming deployment that I will be on. Can my spouse serve me with divorce papers to prevent me from going on this deployment right before I deploy or does he have to wait?

Find a divorce lawyer who specializes in military divorce. Depending on the state, you can get the divorce court dates pushed off until your return OR you can have a lawyer take care of it all for you. If children and property aren't involved, you might just want to hire a lawyer that can handle it so that it's done without you ever really having to deal with it.
Painful, inconvenient and generally crappy, but yeah, nothing can stop your spouse from trying to be a dick if he wants to be.
