Can my unit make me come in to work while I’m attending blc?

Have you talked with your CoC? Your 1SG didnt know you had been recalled.

Well you are on orders for the school. Your unit has no right to call you in. Take it up with the leadership at the school as they are your proper chain of command while on orders for school.

You are accounted for, school is your place of duty.

Soldiers in my unit attending BLC and ALC were temporarily detached from my unit and did not conduct any duties or missions regular or extra with my unit until after they completed their schooling. At most they reported their status to their leadership, and of course to the 1SG who wanted to know if they were on track to pass.

If your leadership is attempting to pull you from your established place of duty which is BLC, inform your next higher. The 1SG and the CSM I'm sure would be more than interested to know who is attempting to interfere with the success of your graduation and advancement as an NCO.

I'm not going to say anything else because the other NCOs have already covered it.

Bring it up discreetly to your BDE CSM, as they are usually interested in BLC attendance.

How is this even an issue? I remember when I took WLC, one trainee was told there were admin issues she needed to help clear up for her Unit on the SIDE of WLC, but that should in no way, shape or form prevent you from doing your utmost at BLC.

Escalate the issue if this persists.

Your place of duty is conducting your NCOES of its online. If you chain of command is not help bring the issue to your CSM. You can’t loose be absent of class just because.

If all fails make sure you talk to your SGL about the issue.
