Can someone please provide a clear distinction for these two elements of ALC? I'm finding a lot of conflicting\out-of-date information. ALC-CC became SSD2 (ATRRS; phase 1) followed by resident on-site training (phase 2). Then there is the Blackboard DL portion, and I'm unsure where that fits in. Is it an extension of phase 2? At what time should I complete this relative to resident training?

For 12B you will need to complete SSD 2 then be enrolled in your resident phase ALC. This will turn on your DL portion through Blackboard. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the DL portion it can be rough.

I know when I went to ALC, I couldn't do the DL portion until I had a school date confirmed in the system. SSD 2 had to be complete prior to me getting a seat at the schoolhouse and the DL had to be completed 30 days prior to attending the final resident phase.

Wrote the response before I realized you were already SSG, so you can disregard my comment about the promotion list. My Squad leader just returned from ALC and provided me with some material so I can study up on more equations and conversion tables!

Can someone please provide a clear distinction between ALC Distance Learning (SSD2 vs Blackboard DL)?

SSD2 has to be completed before you can attend ALC and to even be considered for promotion to SSG. National guardsman who attend ALC have to complete a Distance learning portion and it must be completed when you show up to ALC otherwise you'll be sent home. You won't have access to the DL until you are slotted for ALC.

ALC DL is connected to ALC and the phases. SSD2 is a requirement to start ALC DL and the follow on phases. ALC DL is phase I, ALC resident phase is II and the MOS specific is phase III.
