What exactly is it that you think a paragraph and line number is? Anyone with a CAC can look up a paragraph and line number of any unit in the Army, or in fact any other branch. It is just an authorized position in a unit it does not mean that spot is empty. The General has a paragraph and line number that doesn't mean you can take it

I’m prior service and switching from the guard to the active component via 368 (i still had 3 years left in my NG contract) i’m authorized to enlist under option 18 ( first assignment of choice) because i meet all requirements. my recruiter told me if i could get a paragraph and line number that i could get slotted there. so i made a lot of phone callas and sent a lot of emails and was contacted by a G1 who is a captain at fort bragg and he gave me all the information along with stating they are undermanned for my mos. i’m not sure if my recruiter thought i wouldn’t be able to acquire one but now that i have it i’m not sure how to get those orders cut. my recruiter hasn’t been as helpful as i thought he would be but i have everything i needed to acquire and i’m not sure where to go from here.

CPL (Join to see) your recruiter sounds like a brand new recruiter.
If you enlist as an 18X then you don't get a duty station. If you enlist in your current MOS then you usually get a duty station of choice. The MEPS counselor will tell you what you're authorized and where. The CPT at Bragg has no authority or knowledge about manning. Enlisted strength management for units is handled by NCOs not CPTs.
Your next step is to walk into the MEPS, meet the counselor and pick your MOS or duty station

i went to MEPS and was suppose to sign yesterday but decided not to because i wasn’t given the choice of duty station even tho i was able to keep my MOS. i think my best option is to get back in contact with him and see what i need to do. thank you for your comments and advice.

CPL (Join to see) your recruiter has no power over what MEPS can offer. If you you weren't offended a choice of Duty station then it wasn't a choice at the time. These choices aren't made by the counselor, it's just whatever the policy is at the time. No MEPS counselor has any say or investment as to whether or not you contract or what you contract into. If you don't get bragg then pick another place. You're only hurting yourself unless you have a great backup plan in case you don't get accepted

Last time I remember 2002 ~ USAREC is an agency that enlists people and not a personnel agency!!! It is the Units G3 that publishes orders. Hope that answers your question.
