Can we please get someone technically smart to put all online 350-1 on one site that is linked to DTMS?

DTMS is the bane of many Co/Btry/Troop Command Teams existence as it provides the higher level a snapshot into their training stats. This snapshot is often invalid, but is taken for truth because the upper echelons of the Army have fully bought into DTMS.
A solution that I would recommend is paying someone that actually knows what they are doing to put all online training on an easy to access and use site, read not ALMS or ATTRS, that is then fully linked to DTMS. This would allow DTMS to self update as Soldiers complete the required online training, and therefore take the burden off the Training Room Clerk or NCO.

The system is now called ATMS and if you have a knowledgeable operator, they can take you to the Knowledge Base inside the system. There you can find the training necessary. However, as a former Master Trainer, I wouldn't delegate privileges below the Squad Leader and even that is a risk. Too many hands in the system can be a bad thing, especially given the changes they are making to the promotion system and the reliance on ATMS. Before you know it, you have no APFT failures, you're 100 qualified on all weapons and you're fully trained for deployment, all because you allowed your Soldiers to have access they took a shortcut to keep from training. The system can work, but it takes a lily time to get all the records updated, after that, the system will do exactly what it's supposed to do, but if you don't complete that part first, then it's all uphill until you do.

SFC Brooks, you are incorrect on one thing. DTMS is still the name, ATMS is an overarching program that I believe is now obsolete.
The new digital job book is a renewed reason to update DTMS because it will support the TRADOC CSMs initiative to remove 350-1 training from NCOES. This of course will require leadership to input that mandatory training as it is completed. I heard it from the horses mouth on Wednesday and think it is a great move toward making DTMS more relevant! MAJ Guy, it's definitely manageable when done right.

CSM Eric Olsen - If it's still DTMS, then that's good. I know ATMS is the overarching name designed to marry all the systems, to include DTMS version 7.0 being the main user interface. I called it ATMS sure to the fact of when you logged into the system, everything said ATMS as opposed to DTMS, when version 6 was the version in play at the time. But again, that was the methodology in place prior to me retiring so I stand corrected. I don't know if they are still pushing to use training data from DTMS for promotion boards and such, but that's why you still need to restrict who has access to the system, like I was telling MAJ Guy. If the training NCO just takes a little time at the end of the day to update Soldier data, that will go a long way to ensuring training stats and the like are current. I've seen the success prior to my retirement so I know it can be done. It's also going to take the support of the Commanders and the 1SGs as well, but it can be done.

Good clarification, and sorry for using your wrong name. I guess it's time to use my glasses.
I do like your idea of using DTMS for promo board candidates, that'll be a good forcing function!

I missed something...when did the Army become so complicated?.....I'm from the old school....you did the training filed a report and you were finished....granted the preparedness issue may have still been a question mark....equipment that could not be fixed or updated was always an issue...how ready were we to go into battle...only the Company Commanders could answer this....and some padded their answers and others who did not care about how they might be judged answered honestly even when they knew they were not 100% ready and suffered the consequences....it all boils down to money....if there is an adequate budget, nothing is impossible....just have to monitor waste and deal with it accordingly....

That would be amazing Sir, I would greatly benefit from that website as my Company alone has 160 Soldiers to keep track of. It would definitely lighten the workload a bit.

I am just not technically smart enough to do it. If there is anyone out there in the RallyPoint world that wants to take this on, have at it.

Sir, you can also see me other post under SFC Brooks but there has been one step toward linking training to DTMS. Resident Individual Training Management System, or RITMS, is now linked to DTMS but of course there are flaws. The title of the course is not shown, just the course number-whoops. Once Emilpo and ALMS links, it will be a godsend, I don't think there is a time line.
