Mine says Jones, Matthew A. SFC USARMY or something like that, but I'd like to distinguish myself without having to move a mountain and get some installation level NEC to do it. There are too many SFC Jones or Matthew Jones in general for example and I always get a TON of emails from random people. I'd like to change it to say something like 500th MI BDE or something. Is that possible? I heard it pulls from AKO or something.

SFC Jones,

Follow this link it will give you a step by step. You have to be able to log on with a CAC card but this will square you away.

Yes, you can change what's displayed on the 'Global Address List'. (Mine has (Retention) as nickname)

Go to the MilConnect site (https://dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect) and login with CAC

Go to 'My Profile' (Update and View My Profile)

Click 'Edit' next to 'Display Name for GAL' and update.

This is ridiculous. I hate the DoD. I'm using the latest MSIE, which I need to log on with a CaC, and it tells me it's unsupported. It wants me to use an older browser. So I assume that's why when I click on the update and view my profile, it does nothing as if the link is dead.

NM I used Chrome. Stupid government systems. They can't run anything to save their life.

Changed mine to say SFC Jones, Matthew Allan (205th MI Bn, USARPAC)

Hopefully that will cut down on the number of national guard units sending me their medical readiness slides.
