I have recently been put in charge of some personnel that have chosen to drop there SQI "P". During this process I have been told that I must use the exact wording form the regulation. The documents I have in my possession state that regulation as "82d Abn Div Reg 611-7".
I have searched Google, Army Pubs, AKO, and found a few forums that did not seem to lead me in the right direction.

Seems Paragraph 5-3 of AR 614-200, dtd 2009 spells it out ---

Thats a New one ... I know we had many folks in the 509th (ABN Inf. BCT) in the early mid 70's request to be dropped from Jump status and terminated Jump status... they Lost the SQI "P" but still maintained the Wings ... that took a revocation of Orders and award action...
and one was a jump refusal and was stripped of His "P" SQI... and wings

Form what I have found so far SFC, it looks like they will lose there wings. However I am unable to make that call until I find the regulation governing the matter.

This is the closest that I have found on the matter, however I belive that it is outdated being that it addresses male officers and enlisted only, as well as pre dates the first females to graduate airborne school.
Even if this was the regulation to go by, it only referances applying for school, and not dropping status after arrival to gaining unit.
