In recent times the only non-Navy man to become president was Ronald Reagan. However we have yet to elect a President who served in the Marines. John Glenn was a Marine who ran for president & is the only one that I know of..??

COL (Join to see) - Did Bob Kerrey ran for president. Senator from Nebraska & Medal of Honor for Vietnam?? John Glenn was a Marine Colonel from Ohio is the only Marine I can recall??

John Kerry...Sen from MA and current Sec of State. Democratic nomination in 2004 served in the Navy in Vietnam. Bob Kerrey did run 1992 but lost the nomination to Clinton.

COL (Join to see) - John Mc Cain, & Ross Perot were in the Navy and Pat Robertson was a Marine .. Bobby Kennedy was in the Navy but was killed in LA just before he began his campaign for president.. Pete McCloskey was a Marine from CA who ran against Pat Robertson & said Robertson was a Marine in name only because he got his father to pull some strings to keep him from going to Korea...
