I was a medical setback at WOCS and am expected to return to the course. I had surgery to repair my shoulder and have had a long recovery process. During that time I got fat. Now I’m looking at being flagged. Will that take away my selection status? Please advise.

Short answer is yes. Any flag will prevent you from attending any school. Furthermore WOCS will not accept any canidate on a temporary profile. Permanent profiles must be approved by DA G3 and only cover the running event. The BLUF is if you can’t maintain yourself now, what kind of WO will you be in the future.

I understand the not being able to go while I’m injured. I understand not being able to go while flagged. What my concern is, is that they will stop me from going back period. I don’t feel a one time flag while waiting to go back should deny me the ability to go back when the flag has been lifted and the profile is over.

I will elaborate on my closing comment from the previous post. If you can’t maintain yourself now how will you succeed as a warrant officer? Warrant officers make up less than 3% of the total force. That being said only the best are accepted for selection. One of the cornerstones of the corps is the ability overcome adversity and successfully complete the mission. Excuses don’t fly. While in recovery what prevented you from getting on a recumbent bike? Your actions reflect your outcome.

Get back in shape, get the flag removed and ask for a class date. Quickly.

More than likely, yes. As being Flagged will eliminate you going to schools. So, your Selection may still stay (possible but not likely), but your school seat reservation will go the way of the Dodo. It could very well end up having to do the process all over again.

I don't have a school date yet as I was once in the school and medically set back. I had surgery and am still on profile recovering. Needless to say a near deadman's profile for about 6 months has destroyed me physically. I came in one percent over and am trying to finagle a redo this week.

CW2 (Join to see) - Good luck. One good sized Class 1 Download should do it.

Can you lose your status as a WO candidate if you are flagged for ABCP before you have a school date?

I would say...possibly. But, if you're a stellar soldier otherwise and this failed tape test is just a one time thing, you should be ok. You've been though at least part of WOCS so you know the plan is to put you in adverse and stressful situations to see how you cope. This is one of those situations. I got a feeling you'll do fine though.

I really cannot answer for what the Army may do. If I was you and wanted to be a WO I would be out there doing two a days 7 days a week or whatever it took to accomplish it

I'm busting my tail now to get it back. I'm nearly up to APFT standards again, but I'm about 1 percent over on the tape test. I am really trying to keep this from hurting my ability to go back.

CW2 (Join to see) quick question did being flagged change anything for you? I have a class date that is still months away. I just missed the tape by 1%.
