Question. My brother is an E7, whom already received 2 reenlistment bonuses, only totaling around $15,000. Somehow he has not made his indefinite reenlistment yet and has one more reenlistment left. I was under the impression that you could only receive 2 reenlistment bonuses so long as they do not exceed $200,000

So the question is: does he qualify for a 3rd reenlistment bonus?

You can continue to receive any number of reenlistment bonuses as long as they don't exceed $200k, paid up until your 24th year of service. What you're thinking of is very old rules that dictated you could only receive one bonus per zone. This is an example of your PSG's PSG passing down tribal knowledge that has been outdated for over a decade

when did that change? I am curious, because I did receive zone bonuses. Glad I read your post before responding, because I was going to answer that it is possible to get 3 bonuses for re enlisting, one in the "Alpha zone" (first re-up) within 3-6 years of active service, one in the Bravo zone, within the 6 to 10 year of service, and at least one re enlistment, and then a charlie bonus, if offered, with 10 to 16 years of service.

SSG Robert Perrotto I became a Career Counselor in 2012 and it had already changed.. For DFAS purposes they're still listed as zones, but you can receive multiple bonuses in each zone
