Currently on recruiting duty as an 11B , am I able to do SFAB just like selection or warrant are allowed? Or is SFAB out of the question ?

I feel your pain. I was looking for every way possible out of recruiting when I left the 82nd and went there.
But no, in the three years I spent on duty, I only saw one guy leave and he went to Delta. No shit, Delta (CAG) whatever you want to call it.
As for the rest of us, enjoy your broadening assignment that will help you get college and possibly the E7 list some day. Don’t get an RI.

SFAB was getting people out of recruiting orders, but once you're on recruiting duty, USAREC would have to release you. Last I heard, SFAB was only taking 11B3. Selection isn't allowed either unless you're at the end of your tour. Commissioning trumps all though because it ends your enlistment

We were taking some 11B2s as an authorized substitution, and they were hiring 20s of they couldnt find any 30s. It changed all the time though.

MSG (Join to see) there has a been a lot of discrepancy between SFAB as to who the CDR can and will authorize to fill which positions. On the one hand you have the FORSCOM guidelines for filling positions and the recruitment guidelines. But then you have the BN and BDE CDRs who are able to make exceptions to fill openings. For instance, at my location in JBLM they are recruiting anyone they can get their hands on to fill slots.

SFC (Join to see) 2SFAB didnt do anything without HRC approval. Anything against MTOE was an authorized substitution. Now that SFAC has been stood up they will be the ones working with HRC on authorized substitutions.

The SFAB was getting people out of recruiting duty, it might have changed though. Contact your branch manager to put you in contact with the SFAB recruiter. Not many 11B2 slots though, so you may have to wait for either a slot to open or a promotion.
