Military.com reports that the crew of the George Washington, previously forward deployed in Yokosuka Japan, will participate in a 3 hull crew swap.

Is this too complex and asking for trouble?

Apparently keeps the Navy from PCSing two whole CVN crews. Only one crew - the one going to Newport News gets PCSed...

Rabbi Matlow it certainly is complex and complicated. The big payoff is that the crews will not be separated from their families for months at a time. It could pay off handsomely by increased morale. Stay tuned.

I'm not so sure about that. For instance, if one of the crews just got back from deployment, but their new hull leaves in less than 18 months, that becomes an issue... Not knowing the deployment schedules, it's not possible to adequately assess that...

There will probably be a few mistakes on crew assignments. Remember there is the right way, the wrong way and the Navy way.
