Charms candy. Myth, or truth? Will they bring the rain sent from the charms god?

We were always told not to eat the charms that came in MRE's. Not because they were old, melted and tasted like crap, but because they will bring the rain. Especially the green ones. True story: While training in Saudi Arabia we were passing this warning on to the boots. DON'T eat the charms! Well, while sitting on my gun waiting on a fire mission, I decided to eat some against the advice of my peers. I swear that within 10 min it started to rain. I am a believer in the charms god.
