Clinicians turned healthcare administers, how did you make the transition from exam room to "board room"? Do you ever regret your decision?

I'm definitely focused on the 50m target right now (graduating from school), but I always like to keep an eye in the future. I'll be in my mid 40s when I finally leave the Army and I think my body may be ready to transition into something on the administrative side of the house. What made you decide it was time to make a change? When you made the jump did you find an MHA or MBA necessary?

I've been a chaplain. I would say that having administrators who have been medical providers is critical. There are far too many bean counters in medicine, and they have lost the big flick about patient care coming first.
Please don't get an MBA - my experience with docs with MBA's is that they also forget about patients, and focus on $$$. Might be great for your bank account, but not so much for your patients.
