The 2015 MSG list was recently released and zero signaleers were selected. What are your plans for this years as far as Preparing your records, Schooling, Training, Assignments and or retirement?
The Chief of Signal recently released our current posture and across the board we are over strength at the senior levels. Will this influence your future decisions on staying, reclassifiying or going Warrant?

My Plan is to complete my degree before the next board. If I get looked over for a 3rd time I will more than likely retire at 20. Way I see it there isn't much more for me to do in my current rank except be a EO or Sharp Rep. Last ten years I have been a Instructor, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant and now OPS at the CORPS Level. I guess my time is coming to a end. Its been fun and enjoyed every bit of it.

I'll tell you that there something going on as far 25W. 25D picked up six for MSG, and that is an up an coming MOS. Even with First Sergeant time and in a 25W5O slot, no pick up. This just forces some to retire. As long as we still have a need for tactical technologists, 25W will be around. What got you promoted to SFC may not get you promoted to MSG. Good luck to all the next go around, continue to excel and prepare.

SSG Livingston,
The issue is whit the current authorized numbers and what we actually have at hand. We are for example 120% over strength in the 25W alone. With the realignment a few years back cutting the Signal Battallions and replacing them with Signal companies at the BCT level we lost hundreds of positions. Now we are cutting down BCTs and are left with more people than authorized units.

- Unfortunate to read regarding CMD 25.
- I'd be interested in seeing the board result analysis to go beyond the "what" and get to the "why". The why enables better understanding and therefore can be better used to emplace fixes individually and organizationally for the future.

MSG Martin C. CPT (Join to see) If I was in the situation as a 74F Computer Programmer while on active duty who sat on the 1991 MSG promotion list for 2 years. Also I held a bachelors degree in Computer Science and over 10 years experience in the MOS.
The first question would be how many years do you have active? Do you like your job?
Are you in a leadership or staff position that is looked upon favorablily toward the next rank?
What would be your options in reclassifying? The grass is not always green on the other side.
I would have considered going back to my former MOS I left as a SGT 95B now 31B Military Police. If I did not have too many years in and the promotion outlook was more promising.
