So my first reenlistment I took the small bonus and ran with it because I had been in the Army for all of about, what seem to be 10 minutes. Now I have been in long enough to know that nothing is ever as simple as it seems in the Army, so before I start talking about signing on the line once more what advice do you guys have for me? P.S. my window opens in April 2019 (yes almost a yr away but trying to be prepared haha) and first reenlistment I did 60 months. I will hit my 6th year mark about 6 months before my window opens.
SO I think there is some confusion, I WANT TO REENLIST, but I also what to get everything I can out of it besides just saying yea i'll do it and get nothing as a bonus in return. ie duty location, schools, etc.

If you love what you do stay in; if you don’t have pride and love what you do get out. I would say that besides the love for what you do, sit down and figure out how much with all the benefits the military provides would you have to make to live the way you live now. How many jobs do paid vacation. Either way whatever you decide make sure you go at it 100%. Good luck

I don’t normally answer a question with a question but,
Do you love the Army?
Do you love what you do in the Army?
Are one hundred percent sure that you will find a better pay and benefits job outside the military?
Are you still healthy and in great shape?
These are just some random questions but very important questions nevertheless. I hope you make the right choice for you and your loved ones.

Let’s hypothesized on this before you make a final answer.
What if, for example, you don’t get a bonus, or duty location, or schools, or anything at all, would you love the Army enough to stay?

If you enjoy what you're doing, reenlist, you could always retrain for a different MOS also.
