While getting my CAC card fixed I noticed the civilian helping with this award. I wanted to know what she got it for, she had no clue, all she knew was soldiers break their backs trying to gain this award. I have never heard of this award, can someone please clarify what it is?

The Hustle Award is common in the civilian world.  It started decades ago with sports teams and slowly migrated to the corporate world.  I guess the military is finally doing it too.

It's given to the employee or player who consistently puts in extra effort both mentally and physically, has a great attitude, and embodies the values of the organization.

It sounds like a local thing. Most units will have some form of local award or competition.

I don't know, I looked on google and only found one other article about it, so I don't think it is a battalion thing.
