Seeing this post is shocking to many as the veteran said; he had battle buddies who he served with die who were Rangers. As a Soldier, whether Junior ranking, NCO, or Officer, how would you handle a situation like this? Speaking with some guys in my unit, many say they would have went off on this fake. Others say they would have called the police for this situation. Have you recently came across any fakes or knew someone that did? In my opinion, I would have definitely confronted this fake professionally as it is a disgrace to many other service members who served and lost someone close to them. whats your take on this? Do you think the veteran's position was correct in this situation? Let keep it professional.

I thought it was funny that the other civilians were defending him but that guy was like F#$* that and still called him out. Threw AR 670-1 all in his face and that poser was lost in the sauce. He was so scared he was going to remove that ranger tab LOL.

SPC(P) Smith,

My point exactly. If you know Rangers, you know they take pride in that tab and would never remove it. The body language of this MSG was all wrong and not that of a Soldier at that rank. These imposters need to do so more dam research before looking like idiots. OR stop playing Soldier and actually enlist in my opinion.

I watched it and I think the Ranger was rightly pissed off, but as an old school MP who performed lots of UP work in my time, honestly, it was not wearing his cover outside that made me cringe almost as much.

SSG Delia,

your right. No Cover, hands in the pocket, with MSG rank out in public...That has to send flags of in someones head for even if he wasn't a imposter, someone should correct these uniform deficiencies.

I would have handled the situation little better. Depending upon what was said after my hypothetical confrontation there's a 50/50 chance I'd be in jail. Needless to say, this is a sore spot for me.

It's a sore spot for many as everyone's situation is different. However the outcome would depend on the confrontation as you stated. It's crazy how this fake continued to defend himself after being caught in the act of imposing a Soldier.

I despise Campus PDs because they are full of idiots whose main job is to bust legal adults for drinking. Appallingly most drink below 21 and even 18. I want to smack the stupid of them. lol

How old is this kid? He doesn't even come close to looking old enough for the rank on his sleeve.

I did enjoy the video of the marines humiliating the CSM at the funeral. However, I have to say I just stay out of it myself. The people are sick in the head and probably need the attention more than you or I need credit for military service. Clearly they are living a lie on borrowed time, they will never get a job worth having or make anything of themselves for as long as they continue to live a lie.

I'm with MSG Wade Huffman on this one. The game of 20 questions can be pretty entertaining...THEN bust them out with the evidence that they provide.

SGT Richard H. Exactly I usually know that smoeone is a fake when they openly volunteer that they were a SEAL (or other operator) in the first few minutes of meeting them. Most of those guys don't go about flaunting it and really don't want to talk about especially with joe blow.

I knew an Army Nurse that i went to OBC with, then worked with at BAMC who was prior SF. Nicest, most un-assuming guy in the world. But when he put his A's on, he had more tabs, badges and awards than a Banana Republic general....

Probably the quickest way to make you question whether a guy is a real Navy SEAL is the fact that since 1943 when it was frogmen, there have been a total of less than 18,000 of them. There are probably 10 times that many telling the story.

I feel as though this Ranger handled himself in a true and respectable fashion! He showed great restraint in not boot stomping the inbred imposter. I probably would have been arrested for assault had that been me. I've had to many battles die for some sh!t brick to disrespect the uniform! And on another note, who the hell was that chick sh!t that was defending the imposter!?!? He also needs a swift boot in the a$$! If you wanna wear the uniform, you better be ready to serve your time!

SGT Serra,

Agreed! The veteran showed and displayed the image that he truly has values and honor he believes in. Unfortunately the civilian police or campus police didn't agree with him and what he believed in as he was arrested. What he stood up for is 100% respectable in my eyes as he is a true veteran for believe in what he once fought and and sacrificed for; his country! That is something you can't take away from a Soldier. Degrading the uniform, as this imposter was doing, shows just how much these fakes honor the commitment young woman and men raise their right hand for everyday. Obviously they take it as a joke and only see the gains they think they'll get out of it which is a dishonor and disrespect to all Soldiers that sacrificed their lives for this country and still continue to do on this very day. In my eyes, this veteran did what was right!
