I am always in aww when I here Soldiers of many ranks speak about all the things that are wrong with the military and what they expect to see. The military seems to be soooo great on the 1st and the 15th when its time to get paid but people feel that everything else the military is doing it so wrong. From, not enough pay, NCOER, Regs, Pt, promotion selection, orders and the list goes on and on. We have been the one of the greatest military for years, before we joined and perhaps after we have joined so what makes us feel that the system is so broken and needs our input? What do you think?

I believe the US has had one of the greatest militaries for years because it has constantly changed and grown. We need to keep growing or we become stagnant and decay. I agree that my generation complains excessively about trivial inconvienences. However it is dangerous to ignore a complaint just because "soldiers always complain." The system only works if it has our input. We have the best vantage point for seeing where it is broken. Our military cannot improve if there is nobody to say, "Hey we have a problem with..." Granted as an NCO I'm sure it is wearisome for you to sort through the petulant complaints and finding real fixable problems.

Positive feed back is one thing but to hear the same people complain about matters that has allowed the military to be successful for all these years is something different.

SFC Butler, I once heard a Drill Sergeant comment that a soldier isn't happy unless he/she was bitching about something. While this may be true, after a certain point that individual should learn to shut their mouth and do the duty they signed up for. Bouncing him or her off the walls is no longer an option, but did anyone say we couldn't use duct tape? lol

Soldier not bitching? SSgt must not have given THAT guy anything to do. Give him five minutes. He'll bitch about not having anything to bitch about.
YOU GUYS know what I'm talkin' 'bout, HOOAH?

I believe that things could stay the same and soldiers will still find something to complain about. My problem is there are changes that are been made higher that seem to be effecting the NCO corp only. There was no need to change the NCOER process that changed. Promotions system was fine that changed.
