Has anyone contacted branch for reassignment after getting promoted and was told" I understand you are not slotted in your current grade however, you will have to stay for 36-48 months, and will not be considered for movement until then." Currently, there are two SFC positions on post and both are currently filled. I am now classified as excess personnel however, branch says I can not be moved due to not meeting  the PCS requirements.

SFC A, can you do an interpost transfer????  I didn't have your exact case happen, but while assigned to 44th and deployed I begin working on post deployment job.  I got a job, the REQ#, and even did a phone interview and a thumbs up but my branch told me because I still had 4 mths remaining I couldn't go for the job.  But I talked with my BDE CDR and CSM and got a Letter of Release from them and a Letter of Acceptance to a WTB on the same post and got a interpost transfer........  Good luck SFC.
