I've been mapping some of my goals in the military and how they will be altered with civilian goals I have. Among them is the chance that I may move to DC or California for law school. Doing some research, I found that there would be a few Air Force Reserve bases that would be closer to my law schools compared to the Army Reserve. This decision is years away pending when my contract with the Army Reserve expires, but I wanted to know if people had any recommendations or advise if they were officers that switched branches and if they found the change worth it in the long run (i.e. promotions, deployment, work/life balance, etc).

I have some friends that have changed branches as officers. Some liked the change and some not so much. The guys I’ve talked to that have changed from army to air force absolutely liked it more in the air force.
