Could someone provide a little guidance on transferring to the 304th CA BDE? (POC would be great)

Just finished my tenure as a Company Commander and I am looking to transfer from Transportation to Civil Affairs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CPT Willoughby,
Looks like you're at the right stage in your career to investigate a career move into Civil Affairs. I'll send you a private message with some contact details that should be able to help you out.
The process for consideration is pretty straight forward. You'll submit the standard OERs and APFT results, along with a recommendation from your current O-5+. Be prepared to submit a civilian resume and academic transcripts. Much of Reserve CA requires training/knowledge/experience outside of the military to be truly successful, and any leadership, emergency services, project management, and/or government experience is especially helpful to a CA officer.
A number of battalions in the 304th have openings right now, and we are still deploying if you're interested in that (our focus is Africa). Before you can be qualified as a CA officer and be granted the branch, you'll need to complete CCC, then complete CAQC, the Civil Affairs Qualification Course at Fort Bragg. CAQC is no joke, it's a joint training environment with your active duty counterparts, and it's very physically and mentally challenging. You can drill with a unit prior to qualification, but be prepared to be asked to move quickly through the training process.
Good luck!

We have 65 RP members from the 304th CA BDE. You just have to search for the unit in the top right search bar. I'm also going to tag some of the members of that unit here, so they know you are looking for assistance:

No, thank you for joining one of my best units (whichever one you join, it will be the best)! If anyone else out there needs help with Civil Affairs nationwide, just let me know.

Go to a BN and be a CAT (Civil Affairs Team) Leader first. It will be your best experience.
