Without going into to far flung details I have been told by a recent new hire, is it possible in the Marine Corps to cross train from Motor Vehicle Operator to Infantry inside of one's first enlistment? Of course anything is possible, but would it actually happen?

I was 3531 myself! But a Jarhead is always 0311 first and foremost!
Well, that’s the way it was in the 70’s.

Yes...i was a squad leader in Iraq for Romeo btry...they were selected to be a infantry rifle platoon in 07 and I was selected as one to lead along with other sgts from all the different sections...it was awesome...made me lat move 0311 cuz I loved it so much

I never saw it happen. I saw some Marines pick up a secondary MOS and do something different within the company/regiment but completely change their MOS.

While possible I would doubt it.
Too different. I was contract infantry, but was attached to a MP unit. So technically I was cross trained as an MP. But did not get formal training. Nor did I rate the perks, ie..pistol badge I had to buy.
