Sgm crump
So I was perusing Army Times and saw this little Gem:

http://www.armytimes.com/article/20110309/NEWS/103090328/Ex-Walter-Reed-CSM-sentenced-to-6-months

From the article:

Some of the offenses admitted by Crump include wearing six awards and decorations from March to December of 2009, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Arrowhead device, which indicates — contrary to military records — that he made a combat jump into Grenada. He admitted he wore a U.S. Navy Achievement Medal without authority since 2006 and, on three occasions, two or three unauthorized overseas service bars.

Do you think that the CSM was fined too harshly, just right, or not enough?

I will reserve my comments for now.

I do not know. Look at it one way. Would he had made SFC with or with out those awards. How was he with punishment of his joes. How can someone pass punishment when they are in the wrong.

SPC Ronald Henson, true he did earn CSM. But he is the one that is suppose to set the standards, enforce the standards and maintain all Moral Values taught to each and everyone of us from day one. He knew better! If I were to go and get drunk and drive home and kill a car load of people.....I knew better. I don't give a damn how you look at it is just as severe because we are professionals try to keep our place in this country and not be disgraced due to ignorance that we have plagued upon us!

I have a sorry ass brother-in-law that is an Army SgtMaj, and he does the same thing. Just has not got caught yet. Oh yea! Jump wings, Bronze Star, Air Assault wings. He was a sgt admin for the hospital on active duty, and now he is in the reserves as a motor-T SgtMaj. Has not done anything that requires balls, but tells bullshit stories, and makes himself out to be a Rambo war junky. I can't stand for those type people breath the same air I do when I'm around.

He decorated himself. So what. Big deal. Who cares. Did Walter Reed receive extra pay or benefits for the ribbon decorations? Was he promoted? What did he do to deprive anyone?
Nada. That's what I thought. If the military wants something to do, there are plenty of scapegoats to hack on.

If a private did this, the punishment would be severe, possibly a chapter I bet, so for a CSM, someone suppose to be setting the example at all times, should be punished severely.

I don't choose a category of punishment as I am not here to judge. NCO's make decisions. In those decisions we either remember who we are, or we allow something, or others to draw us to be something less than what we were developed to be. If I had made this decision, I would be grateful that I'd still have a status with the military at all and I'd do the time. We all know, many of the infidelities we hear of in the media degrade who we are no matter what branch. Yet, if the media stands true, we disrespect everything we fight for.

It should of been either or.... Six months or Demotion... His choice... He was a command sergeant major and even though the awards were not officially his... Punishment is due... But not too Harsh...
