Do I agree with how it went down and how they will use this as propaganda (No). This is a win and a huge loss for us. Did they give out more then they should have - I wasn't in the situation and hopefully the debrief covers the why... however the videos and pictures make me cringe.

The incident is over, it was handled calmly and professionally... why is it a huge loss for us? Some sailors made a navigational error, they were detained and quickly released. We lost nothing, they lost nothing... the only people that lost something was those in both countries who lust for war.

They were not POW's, so the code of conduct isn't really relevant... We aren't at war with Syria.

First I wasn't there, but the question that lingers was, you couldn't try to out run them by running back into international waters? Looking at the Iranian boats I see no reason why you gave in.
