Modern day athletes lack direction and guidance excepting for their sport. Was it worth spending political capitol of the US to have those players released from China after their transgressions?
Did they benefit from the experience, did the athletic community benefit from thrir release?

This was one of those situations where President Trump couldn’t win. He got them released and the Trump haters find fault. Had he not gained their release, they would have blamed him for that. If there is a price to pay, it will be rendered by their school. My guess, slap on the wrist.

The anti-Trumpers are too far in, at this point. They would rather scream at the sky than say he did one thing right. He will continue to say/tweet dumb things, that's what happens when you don't have a PR/Lawyer/Political team filtering your every word. In the few cases that his administration does something right, you'll never hear anything positive from the leftists. Even on this site, when active and retiree's will get a pay bump next year, I'm sure there will be nothing but negativity from the left. They are blinded by hatred. That's what happens when you tie your identity to a political philosophy.

CSM Charles Hayden- what political capital did Trump even use? Did he release five Taliban prisoners for their exchange?

I think you're reading too much into it. The guy desperately needs a W in his ledger and went for low hanging fruit...

I thought I was pretty good at that, until I got to Korea and started using those thin metal chopsticks... Suddenly I feel like a novice again!

A grandson complained about plastic chopsticks, nevertheless, his plate was emptied!
