For those who were in the service or had a spouse in the service when they got married did you have a military wedding? Why or why not?

We chose to get married during a trip to Vegas instead of having a big wedding. Had a wonderful time and saved a bundle.

I was married twice, 1st time age 19, in Class A uniform with all my battle buddies :). Second time also in Class A uniform 5 months after returning from Iraq. The ladies really love a man in uniform of course, so that decision was instant and ok with me ;). I've never worn a tuxedo yet, convenient don't u think?

No, my spouse and I are a dual-military couple and the military was the last thing we wanted to celebrate at our wedding. She wore a gown and I wore a tuxedo.
However the military was the reason for the wedding. We "had" to get married so that our assignment officer would send me to shore duty with my spouse instead of sending me to teach at Nuclear Power School.
We had the wedding on Saturday, and on Sunday I left for a 90-day submarine patrol. My shipmates were highly amused to see me return from the pre-patrol block leave period with a wedding ring on my finger.

I intended to, but PCSed instead. Instead, small ceremony overseen by a tattooed biker chaplain.

My wife and I couldn't afford a non-military wedding. We wanted to have a nice wedding we could pay for and having some of my soldiers be a part of the saber team was really awesome

I married my wife at the El Paso County Courthouse in Colorado Springs, was in my Dress Greens with white shirt and bow tie, and other than my roommate as best-man, that was the extent of the Army in my wedding.

One of the guys I served with in the NYARNG got married in his class A's and even though there was a lot of other people there from his unit in attendance the only other person in uniform besides the groom was the best man

Not 100%, but close enough. Women love the uniform, good for photos. I invited my best friend who was part of the Marine Corp at the time and it served as an excellent addition.
