Lived it. Paid the price of a broken home. Got the t-shirt.
I won't say that my toxic leaders made my situation, but they made it much, much worse.
Bastards.

Absolutely the stress at work eventually carries over to the home life. If you feel you are not successful at work than you will walk through that door feeling like you failed your family.

I love what I do in the army, the only thing I wish I could change is the hours. As a X-ray tech in a hospital our clinic is open 24/7 to provide care and services to patients in the hospital. I would love to just work from PT to the end of the day, but its not my case. One month I will work Midnight to 8 a.m + have to make any or all additional assignments/duties/events during regular business hours, the next I will work 1530 to 2400 and have to do the same. I love what I do, but it does come with its own stress, just like every job. Thankfully I have been blessed with a very understanding and motivating wife!
