Did you know that Veterans get winter coats at holiday giveaway?
RP Members another one of those good news stories for veterans during the holidays.
Sawyer Gauthier, 10, of Weymouth shook hands with a homeless veteran as he tagged along with his father, a member of The Rolling Thunder MA1.

The back room of the building on Court Street was crowded Sunday morning, a mix of chaos and cheer, as veterans and volunteers stood and sat elbow-to-elbow. An organizer called out raffle numbers to determine a picking order for coats that were in waist-high boxes against the walls.
The crowd cheered as a veteran stood up and displayed his ticket.
The annual winter gear donation event at the New England Center and Home for Veterans gave away coats, gift bags, and gift cards to 60 veterans Sunday morning.

It is good news that many are helping homeless veterans and other homeless people keep warm by providing theme with winder coats, blankets and other items to keep them comfortable as winter approaches COL Mikel J. Burroughs. Thanks form sharing a a good news story from New England where it is cold already.

Thanks for sharing! I'll have to see if we have a similar program here in Tucson. Sure it doesn't get as cold as the rest of the country, but it does still get cold (we're expecting freezing weather tonight) and we do have homeless/close-to-homeless veterans.

That's a fantastic event, one that should be replicated across every city. Thanks for sharing!

The raffle system is one of the best.. people need to remember to keep voices low because Vets hearing may get worse as they age. And the Vet can hear their
Number called and get a coat..
