Did you know the only casualty of the Cuban missile crisis was shot down on October 27, 1962?

U-2's and SA-2's have an interesting history. There is at least 3 incidents where the U-2's lost.

No I did not know that Major Rudolf Anderson of the United States Air Force becomes the only direct USA human casualty of the Cuban missile crisis when his U-2 reconnaissance airplane is shot down in Cuba by a Soviet-supplied SA-2 Guideline surface-to-air SSgt Alex Robinson.
The Bay of Pigs catastrophe cost many of the Cubans trained by the CIA their lives and or freedom.
