SPC Margaret Higgins thanks I had a friend 6 years ago, to start helping me prepare for transition with the VA, it helped tremendously with organization. I passed my tips to Veterans on and off active duty.

I get more than enough support from the members of Rally Point, the members of my church, and somewhat from my family.

After attending a TAP class near my 19th year I realized how unprepared I was in preparing for retirement. A CSM tapped me on my shoulder and gave me the guidance I was missing on Recruiter duty. Needless to say, I served another 4 years, 7 months after getting medically retired with full benefits. I thank that CSM everyday for caring enough to tell me straight, "You are not ready to retire!" I read between the lines. Once you are disabled, you become labeled by leadership and forced to medically retire.
