I'm no DJ but I prefer Vinyl due to the sound it produces compared to the digital age. Its the same reasons tube amps having come back in the high end sound world, they produce a warmer sound compared to MOSFET Class D amps.

Good point. Some producers actually send their tracks through tape to get that "warm" sound.

Then again for a DJ sound quality is not the most important thing because you have little control over the enviornment you are reproducing the sound in. You could have what you think are the best speakers in the world with the best gear but the environment could turn it into a 200$ Bose system.

That's why it's important to have a dbx DriveRack or something similar in your flightcase. A DriveRack helps you analyze the room acoustics with a calibrated microphone and adjust the PA to the room. It also has compression and feedback suppression in a 1U rack space. Makes a huge difference when you have a tricky environment. It's especially useful with powered speakers and subwoofers to get the balance right.

Prefer the sound from old vinyl records, they are in a class of their own.

In this day and age it is pretty much all digital. I used to run 3 sl 1200 mk2s.
