I am PCSing TDY enroute. I have a wife and two kids. Going to Bragg and first need to be Airborne Qualified. I was told by the finance office that I cannot get a certain pay until I receive a 1610. I asked three times consecutively in different ways exactly what money I would get and what conditions have to be met for me to receive the entitlements; Confused every time. I just want to know why I need to have a 1610 to receive an entitlement, and also what entitlement I would open up if I get the 1610 turned in. Also, what I would receive without the 1610, and WITH my family members traveling with me.

I just PCS'ed (4 months ago) TDY Enroute. Your 1610 will pay you per diem for the time you are at Fort Benning only and possibly in-around mileage if authorized. Your PCS Orders entitle you to DLA, TLA, etc.

DFAS website is a good source of information. Also, google the JFTR Part II and read directly from the source what you are and aren't entitled too. I have shocked many a finance office throughout my years with my knowledge gained from the JFTR and knowing exactly what entitlements are allowed.
