Do Air Reserve Technicians have the authority of a civilian GS worker, their military rank, or both? Does it depend on what capacity or the particular function you are performing?
I'm pretty new to the whole reserve side of things and I apologize if the question is vague.

If anyone has any resources or links where I could learn more about how these particular positions function, I would be very grateful.

You may want to contact your Senior ART or the CBPO (Consolidated Base Personnel Office, this is what it used to be called, now it's probably the MPF). As far as I know, your rank applies when you're on orders, UTA or TDY status, Annual Tour, etc., otherwise you're probably in your Civilian GS status. Also, I noticed below your photo is a MC Cpl rank and an Air Reserve Technician is usually an Air Force related position...which is it???

Contact your union if you are union or the civilian personnel office at your base. Believe they have both the authority and the rank, believe it flips back and forth through the weekend vs the reserve weekend.
