Not usually, rarely, and yes, in the order you asked.
Language training is allotted and available. If anything, it is underused by the Psyop community.

SPC Greg Gobert - 360th CA BDE is an Airborne Civil Affairs unit in Ft Jackson. I'm a bit biased, but I believe that CA has the better mission between them and PO. Just utilized more. More cause to use a learned language as well, although both do it.

1SG (Join to see) - Will the 360th send me to jump school or does it depend on funding?

SPC Greg Gobert - Everything depends on funding, but the 360th is a jumping unit and requires all of it's Soldiers to be jump qualified and current. They have allocated seats... usually more than they can use.

The 360th CA BDE has a limited amount of parachute positions. It is still possible that you could earn a slot to airborne school if the funding is available and you are a high performer. 2 of their subordinate battalions are Airborne units (412th and 450th).

Language Immersion Program (ALIP) gets you into language school with onward movement to a place where your language skills only are relevant, alongside with cultural integration and expertise in regional issues. Someone familiar to me went this route and was sent to live with a native local family for six months followed by tactical integration in Afghanistan before flying home. I don't recall name or decorations of this NCO. The unit was a slice of the USACAPOC that was remotely located in the Midwest; Psyops...Go Psyops and become a language expert and a regional peacemaker/facilitator under Army Special Operations Command (ASOC), with extra pay, an additional identifier and become an integral part of the elite group.

So chances of getting the opportunity to go through assessment/selection and POQC are really slim? Then after AIT, will I even be reclassed as a 37F or just go through the "beginner course"? I want to be a fully qualified soldier with a new MOS.
