Do CCRN certified rn’s get additional pay? On top of the sign on bonus? My recruiter is saying we do.... but I cannot find this in writing and it seems too good to be true?

1LT, feel free to shoot me any questions, I have been a 66S since 2007 and on active duty since 2003.

1LT (Join to see) - Keith did pretty much exactly what you are looking at doing and other than serving since Meade was at Gettysburg, he knows what he is talking about.

MAJ (Join to see) - Is it still for every year of education, two year service commitment?

1LT (Join to see) - You are looking at roughly a six year active duty commitment for CRNA plus any time you may owe for anything they are giving you to join.

MAJ Byron Oyler for CRNA school it’s an additional 5 years after any other time you owe for bonus, etc. I think she was referring to how she pays back her initial bonus for a 4-year commitment if she gets into USAGPAN before time is paid. They tack it on to the 5 owed for the CRNA school.

No additional pay for CCRN but having it and 66S you are eligible for frequent bonuses. Last I heard for active duty the peak is a six year contract for $35K/YR. Previously it had been $20K/YR. I racked up over $160K over eight years.

1LT (Join to see) - Yes. Coming active duty? Depending on your terms coming active, you may not be eligible for sometime depending on if they are giving you anything up front. I received in 2003 $26,000 towards loan repayment and would not have been eligible right way, but hey, I already got $26,000 for a three year commitment.

Yes, it is true - keep in mind the sign on bonus and the special pay do not stack. I recommend to defer sign-on bonus and when you assess onto active duty opt for current 6yr/$35k special pay retention bonus w/ special pay tech at your duty station. Refer to DFAS link from MAJ (Join to see). I am currently a 66S active duty, pay and ceiling is higher vs our civilian counterparts, goodluck!

What do you mean they do not stack? So I don’t get both like my recruiter said? Well that sucks because I already signed on for a sign on bonus!

1LT (Join to see) they may have changed things from last I heard. Have your recruiter seek out more clarification, maybe it’s possible to get both with a longer ADSO. All financial aspects aside, active duty is a great experience
