I'm currently in the process of trying to go warrant. I would like to be a 915 A, an automotive maintenance officer. Every time I try to get details on what is required every thing is different. Even on go army it has to different lists of requirements. Now I'm hearing that I have to complete ALC to be able to go warrant. So does anyone have any knowledge on this, so I can begin the process?

Check with your training NCO for the answer, he or she should have the answer you need.

Use the recruiting website to find out everything in reference to going warrant. Each MOS is different and has different requirements. 915A does require you to be an ALC graduate. Sometimes certain requirements can be waived unless it specifically states no waivers. I would contact the recruiter for that specific MOS and ask if it can be waived or to verify your eligibility. Go to the link and find out the POC and more details. https://recruiting.army.mil/ISO/AWOR/915A/

This is a resource that can give you generalizations: https://recruiting.army.mil/ISO/AWOR/

However, the one who is going to be able to answer that question definitively is your ascension NCO who usually works with retention. If you’re a Reservist, ARCD could probably help too.

Do I have to attend ALC to become a technical warrant officer?

Every Warrant MOS has different prerequisites, but they all require ALC. When a Warrant MOS is hurting for applicants they may waive the requirement, but they have the Soldier attend ALC after being selected because that's where you learn the advanced technical skills specific for your MOS.
You should sit down with the Warrant Recruiters on your post. They are part of the SORB, so wherever the SF recruiters are, you can find the Warrant Recruiters.

With a few exceptions, yes, you have to have ALC. More knowledge won’t hurt anyhow.

If you aren’t able to understand the recruiting website, your best bet is to contact the actual Warrant recruiters to clarify. Some tech warrant MOS’s require a certain grade and TIG (along with NCOERs)
