This in total make 24 years on the 15th of September, so currently is 23. I'm currently on active duty and going through an MEB just wondering if I need any type of documentation for this process.

You should have a copy of everything. If not you certainly need to gain it. You also need to be cognizant of what your your separation date might be if it goes through. I am not 100 percent sure regarding which retirement you take, or what happens if the MEB is approved before you have the years of combined service to retire normally, that Leeds to which is best.

Anyway, you need to be sure that you know all of the issues surrounding each.

I have pretty much everything I have been given in the last 23 years going on 24 years but just wondering if I need to get anything from anyone else because of all these years. I'm currently active duty so I'm a bit lost with this process.

If you have everything associated with your total service then you are set. If you want your total active service calculated you will need to go through your S1. Remeber that while service for the Guard and Reserve is counted there is odd calculation that is associated with age. If I were you I would request an official calculation of your total “active” service, this information may be a key factor in your MEB process. Again you need to officially request so that you and the Army can make the best determination on your behalf. SSG Dennis Mendoza

CSM Darieus ZaGara i believe that'd the DA 1506 that the career counselor did in 2019 to calculate my time. He even made a comment that he used my Army career history in one of the training he did back in 2019.

What ever documents they end up asking you. If you can, get a hold of ALL of your medical documents from the Guard and Reserve. You may be able to....no promises though.....get them from National Archives

Ouch when I was in the guard it was in the early 2000s and nothing was documented, i even had an ACH missing when I literally turned it in and the unit refused to help me, and Army Reserve I was t there to long. I'm just a bit concerned with what the Army side/decision for this MEB. But either way I know I'll be good. Taking a bit longer than others that started after me.

SSG Dennis Mendoza - Most States Guard Units have State Archives that are generally surprisingly complete. The Guard Systems and Army/Army Reserve systems didn't talk to each other in early 2000's, but I was able to hit the State Archives and they had all the stuff from my Guard period.
Have you looked at you Active Duty days in the Guard and Reserve? You are damn close to Sanctuary, that time might put you over. Or have you looked already and have enough for an Active Duty Retirement?

CPT Lawrence Cable for active duty I'm at 16 years I have 5 good years in the guard and 3 good years in the reserve.
I technically shipped out to basic on 15 September 1998. And since then the only time I was out from any component was from July 1, 2007 to July 24, 2007 that was when I transitioned from the guard back to active duty. I have gotten my DA Form1506 completed and the career counselor took his time to get it right, he even informed me that some of them contract needed to get fixed, but I definitely unsure of how to do that. I'm practically at the end of my military career cause of this medboard, just concerned of what's going to happen with all this time I have served.

How many active duty years do you have to include training like basic training and AIT and deployments in the NG and RC. If you get medically retired, I think they will give you a lump sum.

MAJ Ken Landgren so apparently the VA already concluded their decision the only thing I know from a VA rep that I met with 3 days ago she informed me that's it's looking good, now just waiting on the Army side. Also spoke to my PEBLO same day and she said nothing has came back she's just preparing the checklist

Ask the VA rep and PEBLO if there is a process for immediate appeal of percentages. My PEBLO told me an email to him would suffice to appeal the army percentage right after receiving its offer and it worked. What VA percentage are you expecting and are you married? I am here so ask away. The problem with the MEB process is there is not a SOP which makes it mysterious and the institutional knowledge leaves when soldiers ETS or retire. SSG Dennis Mendoza
