Looked in AR/DA PAM 670-1 but didn't find anything relevant. The aide-de-camp aiguillette and branch insignia are worn when actively serving as an aide, but do you take them off if you need a DA Photo?

Your assignment as an aide is temporary. Your DA photo is a permanent record that will probably be looked at by a promotion board.

That same promotion board will have access to your records and will undoubtedly ‘notice’ your having been selected to be an aide.

Congratulations, in my day, aides were of the chosen few! CPT (Join to see)

See the attached article. https://www.army.mil/article/154296/preparation_knowledge_key_to_successful_da_photo

Only permanently awarded items. The references to DUIs is for enlisted personnel with epaulets.

Click on FAQs at this link: cords are prohibied. https://home.army.mil/lee/index.php/about/Garrison/directorate-plans-training-mobilization-security/visual-information
