Do marines register their hands as deadly weapons?

I was told growing up by my parents, both in the Marine Corp, that my father had his hands registered as deadly weapons. (I’m now 33) Lately this topic came up with a friend who had an abusive husband (former Army) and said his hands were registered and it was supposedly going to hold up in court. My boyfriend is arguing with me that no such thing can occur- registering your hands. Could somebody please lead me in the right direction with some documentation or something that this is factual or a myth...

If they did, what would happen if a court denied them the privilege of carrying a deadly weapon, as can be done with a pistol? Amputation isn't pretty and could be considered inhumane.

This requires no documentation, no this is not a thing, alternatively show me documentation that it is so. Which federal or state statute covers registering hands as a deadly weapon? I'm afraid people have pulled one over on you.
Except in Guam. apparently according to the Washington Post....but check the date it was published. April Fools? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/03/31/these-hands-and-feet-are-registered-as-deadly-weapons-in-guam/?utm_term=.86f07b3217ba
I did see what appears to be an official certificate issued by the Guam Department of Taxation and Revenue. Here is the statute: http://www.guamcourts.org/compileroflaws/GCA/10gca/10gc062.pdf

Your parents were pulling your leg. Marines have never had their hands registered as deadly weapons, nor has the Army. I challenge you to find documentation that this actually occurs in the Marine Corps or any branch. You will not find anything. Listen to your boyfriend.

Are my hands lethal weapons if I have served in the military? - Quora
The old wive’s tale about “registering your hands as lethal weapons” is just that, nonsense. (Used to be mentioned in regards to boxers)

There is no such thing. I hold a 3rd Degree Black Belt, MOS Qualified Infantry and Branched Infantry, Boxed and did a bit of Judo, even was tasked to train Hand to Hand in my Officer Basic Course, and I've never seen or heard of anyone registering their hands as deadly weapons.
Now if you are a professional MMA or Boxer and beat the hell out of some fool, you may be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Now that is a REALLY interesting, unusual question, I've obv also heard of that whole thing, though I've of course got zero clue as to whether it's true at all, the late Dad of a good friend was an ex-POW in WW2, whom I'd gathered had been pretty highly trained in that way, though I never asked about that specific aspect...that was certainly a really good, highly unusual topic, as I'd said, major kudos on that one....

Did you see the last comment to my question? This is rather interesting: It's also worth noting that to this day in the Marine Corps, hand to hand combat instructors with years of teaching experience and a very high degree of skill have to register their hands with the Marine Corps. But there is no civilian requirement.

This is definitely not a thing. Besides, most Soldiers/Marines/even SOF get little training in hand to hand combat.

I don’t appreciate this comment at all. Assume as you will, but this was a serious question. I respected my father and never questioned anything he said or what others said about him, so this never crossed my mind until it recently came up with a friend who was nearly killed by her husband and me telling my bf about my dad and also what this girl is going through and what is supposedly being used in court against him. So instead of being a presumptions dick, provide some decent insight on the topic.

Hell yes they are. Hey while we are here. Did you hear that? NM. Sometimes I hear things. Like voices and stuff. Anywhooo, so ya. I was abducted by giant rabbits. I was taken to this magical land called Wabbitsville. It’s true. I’m pretty sure my paps hands were lethal too. Cause my mommy told my cousins sister which is my cousin too, that her fuzzzz bucket was destroyed from his hands so I’m pretty sure there deadly. Shoot, I’d say deadly as heck. Especially if they did that huh? Santa clause comes to my house 2 times a year. That’s two fingers in case you were wondering. So ya I think you should really be good so he comes see you too. Get like some new teddy bears n stuff. Magical huh? Gotta go. Can’t miss my dosage!!
