After 27 years of leadership training, mentoring, and working as a first sergeant. I learned the term leadership cannot be defined. Now that I'm retired, one of the foundations that I work in continually brings up the subject. To me, it just seems there is a tremendous amount of energy wasted on something that truly has no definition. Maybe I am just too old or experienced for my own good. What are your thoughts?

No...John Maxwell put it best..."Leadership is influence...nothing more, nothing less."

Thank you Tony, I work as a substitute teacher also, and I tell you, sometimes I just feel like people get stuck in this loop discussing leadership. But it's always on the definition, All potatoes and no meat. Before I retired I started telling the senior NCOs, just ask yourself two questions every day. What am I doing? What am I supposed to be doing? If the answers were not the same, you're probably steering unit in the wrong direction.
