Do you automatically qualify for TDY en-route if your school to reclassify is less than 6 months?

Is there any reason why his report date on ASK would be 2 months out from the completion date from his reclass?

To allow time for PCS leave after.

Reclassing from 91b to 31e. Schools is roughly 7-8 weeks. We are projected to pcs to Leavenworth and training is at Leonardwood. Ask says report date is December. He starts school early Sept and should end the end of Oct. I'm hoping the date is just a default. My husband has been told he would have to do a 4187 to put in the request for it. I would rather a tdy en-route then tdy and return.

If not. The school is under 10 months long so it's not a PCS. He will be attending the course without dependents.

No I am not. I am aware of that. Based on what we were told from retention, I was under the impression that we would pcs to our next ds before he would report for school rather then us pcs once he finishes.

In accordance with AR 601-280 (Army Retention Program), if you re-enlist for Option 3 (Army Training)...
"1. the school course is 20 weeks or more in duration, the Soldier will be assigned to the school in a PCS status.
2. If the school course is less than 20 weeks duration the Soldier will be assigned according to instructions from Commander, HRC. The
personnel records custodian will obtain ultimate unit assignment from the Soldier’s new career management branch, HRC, before issuance
of movement orders."
