For the record, I posted this item for discussion purposes. I don't know what the truth is. I put this out there so I could be better educated. I have seen much info on the internet about command influence such as a flag officer saying women would graduate. What is not in disputes is the women were given additional training beyond what men get.

I'm not going to believe anything until I see the results of a thorough investigation. I just wish the investigation had been done on the down low rather than someone leaking it to the media.

I'm curious, they passed so why this "While Griest and Haver are allowed to wear the black and gold Ranger tab on their uniform, they have not been allowed to join the elite fighting Rangers unit itself."?

Ranger School is not the same as Ranger Assessment and Selection Program. RASP gets you into the 75th Ranger Regiment, Ranger School gets you the Ranger tab. The Regiment is still male-only.

This is a very common misperception that the media had gotten wrong more often than not in all the coverage of this. The confusion comes because they both have the word Ranger in their titles. Ranger school is a leadership school that focuses on leading under extreme stress (little sleep and food) using small unit Infantry tactics as a training venue. It is not a Special Operations course. Ranger school has always been open to people who were not in the Ranger Regiment (I graduated in 1986 and never served in 75th). Ranger Regiment is the premier Infantry unit in the Army and part of Army Special Operations Command. Many of the junior enlisted in the Ranger Regiment are not Ranger school graduates. However, most if not all Officers and NCOs regardless of MOS are Ranger school grads. You will see a lot more Soldiers wearing a Ranger tab than the 75th Ranger Regiment scroll.

Also has something to do with no Apache pilot slots in the Regiment. I am not 100% sure about MP slots.
