I use Tenon.io and accessibility plug-ins on my website to help me learn more about making my blog more accessible to those with disabilities. Webmasters, do you know about this? Others, have you thought about how much this can affect you and your loved ones?

I chose seaweed. We DO care about accessibility, but we have fairly finite resources. For the most part, that means we try to code everything so reading tools can navigate more easily and the site doesn't break when the text is enlarged. We haven't had any complaints or requests, and as a Children's Hospital, we have some pretty awesome people who are paid to help people find great information for free.

That's a great way to assist the cause without depending on technology. Thanks for sharing.

Personally with all the built in accessibility features built into both Windows and Mac OSs the need to code these features into websites seems to be a mute point at this time. Right now, I'm more invested in developing great, usable mobile versions of the websites I admin.

SGT (Join to see) Google is cutting back on their support for plugins. This means that anyone using google chrome browser may have to jump through some hoops to get the plug in to work (unless of course it is one of the remaining supported plug-ins).

If it makes you feel any better, we just upgrade from Windows XP. Talk about development nightmare...NOTHING works right on IE7, especially on a highly secure network.

I forgot about Opera. I want to work in a small business and suggest moving to Linux distros. They have distros targeted toward accessibility.
