A tattoo does not define the Soldier. Throughout my career I have seen many Soldiers with various types of tattoos and in no instance did it take away from the person being evaluated using the whole Soldier concept. Too many times I feel some troops get the worst end of the stick. Now there are some instances of course where there is an excessive amount of tattoos. Prior to joining our services is when these topics should have been initially addressed and reinforced throughout the years. As long as the Soldier adheres to standards, there is no problem. Many quality Soldiers with time under their belt have even volunteered to have them removed to set the standard and be an example for those around them.
