Are you serious? As a commander, I'm not worried about the individual, I'm worried about the company. My decisions are for the good of the whole company, not the individual. Honestly, I could really care less if someone feels that I'm not fair to them. Most everything you earn is a privilege, not a right so I'm sorry if someone doesn't feel that I haven't been fair to them.

Captain, I am not here to argue with you.
I thought it was a valid question.
A good Company Commander, such as yourself, MAJ (Join to see) would Not worry about such things.
Thank you for your input.

I'm sorry but I would have to know the basis of the question. What behaviors are being exhibited that might make you feel the commander is favoring one soldier over another.

LTC (Join to see), I think you may have misread what I said: "With my never having BEEN a CO..."

I guess i did. I was taught a long time ago that there is no such thing as a personality conflict between a superior and a subordinate, the superior wins every time. Ive been on the right and wrong side of that. My answer is this...if his/her behavior is illegal, immorale or unethical the fair is relative. If its hostile then the IG is there to help.

He'd better be. Things go South in a hurry when the CO and the First Sergeant are not on the same page.

I am sure that they do; 1SG (Join to see)....especially if that occurred during combat. I can only but imagine, the horrific consequences of that.
