Do you find it offensive when individuals fly the American flag upside down in political protest?

Every American has a right to hang old glory in that way. But when they misuse for no oher reason other than to join the crowd, then it's wrong. Americans want to protest, know how to protest and the meaning behind the symbols you're using.
Knowledge is power and they look ignorant like those college kid Sanders supporters that had no idea what socialism is lol. It's embarrassing and infuriating.

What do YOU think democratic socialism is? If your answer includes the Soviet Union, China, or the Nazi party then you are already wrong. Do some research- then you will be better-informed about your objections and be able to combat them more thoroughly.
By the way, don't mention Karl Marx, either. He was a proponent of COMMUNISM. I challenge you to find out who wrote about SOCIALISM!!!!

Not sure how you can obtain any more freedom by letting the government control enterprise... I'm also not sure that the term 'Democratic Socialism' is an honest identification. The pairing seems counter-intuitive to me.

Airman, please, do not misconstrue my remarks on socialism as an attack on your obvious support for Sanders. I like some of his ideas, sure, they're great ideas on paper and make a lot of (sadly, my generation) millenials wet themselves in pleasure.
But the idea that "I'm going to give you free this and free that" does not appeal to me. Because, as a hard working, middle class american who knows what "democratic socialism" really is, I'd rather stick to my republic way of thinking. I don't mean 'republican', I mean republic.
When I want to pay for college, I'll let my GI bill pay for it, or I will pay my way through it like alot of other sane Americans who don't want to have to owe anything to the governemnt that paid for me to "succeed".
Now, please, you go do some research into the difference between a democracy and a republic, then, go look how a democratic socialistic society would fit into an equation like that.
I don't appreciate being attacked on RP for an offhand comment of an opinion I have about my brainwashed generation. I have that right and, quite honestly, will have that right till the governement decides that freedom of speech isn't constitutional anymore and since the American people now owe us because we pay for their collective way of: living and thinking, we don't like that anymore.
You don't believe that can happen? Give them more power lol give them the power to choose whether or not you go t college, whether to pay for your doctor bills, whether or not to defend you against criminals.
Funny how the tides turn when perspective is placed on the table.
Enjoy your day :-)

If they feel in distress in the United States of America, let them go to another country and see what life is like under real distress. They could start with Iran. I'm sure that we could get enough donations for a one way trip as long as they couldn't come back ti the US. They have no idea what distress is!
