Do you get reassigned after Ranger School?

Hello all,
As someone who would very much like to attend ranger school in the hopes of pursuing my tab (I know, I’m commo), I would like to know are soldiers reassigned after they complete ranger school? Or is it just a TDY and upon completing the course you return to your unit with the tab. I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer and most people I’ve asked in person only speculate.

It depends on who pays for it. If you're unit pays for you to attend, you return to the unit. If you request it through reenlistment or your branch manager, then the Army pays for it and you attend TDY enroute.
Then they are idiots. Unless assigned to the Regiment, you will return to your parent unit. That's why it is hard for slots- Regiment gets 1st choice, cadets/ROTC, then the units willing to pay for the slot.
